The ’52 in 52′ project was based on a simple idea… Get out of the Edinburgh office one lunchtime a year for a whole year. Undertake a sketch or painting of something nearby – 15 minutes maximum. Oh, and no rubbing out!
The end result was an exhibition of all 52 sketches. Andrew donated all profits from the sale of over 30 of the original sketches of Edinburgh and beyond at the exhibition to Alzheimer’s Research UK – a remarkable sum of over £7,000! Quite an achievement from such a modest beginning.
This beautiful hardback art book features all 52 sketches from ’52 in 52, series 1, fifteen-minute Edinburgh and beyond’, along with Andrew’s notes on the creation of each.
